Was 'Cloverfield' Created? Origin of Attack on VIDEO!

This past Friday an envelope showed up on my doorstep, with a note inside that said "big clues" - I was a little nervous considering there was no return address, but my curiosity was killing me. I opened up the package and found a DVD inside, which I quickly stuck into my player. What I found on it blew my mind - and now I have all three videos uploaded to BDTV for you. What you'll find are three videos for the movie Cloverfield. One video carries the Slusho commercial, the other has news broadcasts from around the world that reveal the origin of the monsters attack; and the third has a web journal that teases the idea that maybe the Cloverfield monster was CREATED by Tagruato! Go watch the videos, tell me if you notice anything I am missing, or can translate any of the news videos. CLOVERFIELD hits Blu-ray on June 6.

ABOMINABLE director Ryan Schifrin tells JeffreyCombs.com that a sequel to ABOMINABLE is currently in development with Larry Hama writing the screenplay. Not only is Jeffs [Combs] character Buddy making a return, hes one of the main characters this time," Shifrin tells the site. Well, Buddy will definitely have survived being bitten and have the scars to prove it. Were still keeping the plot under wraps, but there is a military component, which Larry Hama really did a stellar job with, and the ending of the last one clearly sets up that theres more than one of the furry critters out there. BuyCostumes.com Moves Into 360,000 sq. ft. facility.

BuyCostumes.com, the world’s largest Internet based retailer of costumes and party supplies, begins operating out of its new 360,000 sq. ft. facility.

The facility, which was developed by Willow Tree Development, LLC. and built by Berghammer Corporation is a LEED certified “green” building and was designed specifically for BuySeasons, Inc., operator of BuyCostumes.com, the world’s largest Internet based Party and Halloween Company. The new facility is located at 5915 S. Moorland Road in New Berlin Wisconsin.

“Who knew more Americans get their Halloween costumes from New Berlin Wisconsin than any other city in America?! We are very pleased to have such a great technology company in our community,” commented New Berlin Mayor Jack Chiovatero. BuyCostumes.com expects to ship more than 1,000,000 costumes this Halloween, making New Berlin the “Halloween capital of the world” according to Jalem Getz, the Company’s CEO.

Given their rapid growth and focus on Halloween, the Company expects to employ 1,000 people this fall. BuyCostumes.com is an excellent place for families, college students and even local charities looking for supplemental income during the current difficult economic times. While many of our employees are full time, there has been a growing trend over the past few years for people looking for a 3‐6 month financial boost. Many of BuySeasons seasonal employees have full time jobs with other companies but come back year after year, due partially to the flexible work schedules and fun environment. “It’s a win‐win for BuyCostumes.com and the community of New Berlin. We need great employees and the community of New Berlin and surrounding areas need good jobs” commented Daniel Haight, the company’s Chief Operating Officer.

BLOOD DRIVE

Greetings little Cherubs and Ghouls,

This is Lestat wishing a good evening to you and yours. It’s that time of year again when I must acquiesce to the demands of my immortal nature and send forth the word for new blood to support the Coven and get those memberships rolling in. (Renewals for you non-fledglings…) It has been a good first year of the fan club’s resurrection and we have many things that we want to move forward on and we need your support to keep things going. I can’t do all of this by myself, despite my nature to want you to believe that to be so. It worked with Louis and Claudia...well, it "kind of" worked with Claudia...but I digress.

The ARVLFC requires two things to keep going and those are the countless hours of hard work throughout the year put in by our staff of minions...I mean volunteers, and the financial support of our Coven members. Memberships help to provide for the Vampire Balls in New Orleans every Halloween and are a crucial element to making those events grow and evolve. Members take pride in knowing that they help to make these celebrations come to be! They also get steep discounts on tickets. To sweeten things up a bit for this year’s new memberships and renewals I am going to hold a drawing for an unsigned Stan Rice print. This drawing will be available to those members completing a new membership or a renewal by the end of May. The drawing will be held after that deadline and the winner announced on the website and the MySpace sister pages.

So, please do warm my reckless, careless heart and show me the love I crave as your eternal "Brat Prince" by submitting to strengthening the blood as a member of our little Coven. To renew or join as a new member just go to MEMBERSHIPS and follow the directions to sign up. We are adding some new buttons/pins to the selection so you may get one of the new series in your packet, especially if you are renewing!

Well, I have done my bit for now and I haven’t fed enough. Lower Decatur beckons and the hour grows late. Armand is passing through New Orleans with Marius and Daniel and I would like to watch them for awhile before the sun returns to put us all back in our graves.

With Love of the Light,

Lestat

Filmax Takes 'Invitation' to Most Markets

Spanish production-sales giant Filmax has taken most international rights on INVITATION ONLY produced by Taiwanese shingle Three Dots Ent., its first Asian pickup. Territories excluded from the deal are Asia, where Three Dots retains rights, Germany, Poland and Spain. As with many of Filmax's Spanish pics, helmer Kevin Ko is a first-timer. The film is about five young friends unexpectedly invited to an upscale party, which turns out to be an invitation to torture and murder. Now in post, and shot in Mandarin and English, "Invitation Only" is written by Carolyn Lin and Sung In. The film sounds like a twist on early Hitchcock if you ask me.

Yes Yes!

I've always been fascinated by the typographically alluring and spiritually dubious Ouija Board that first entered pop culture in the midst of the Victorian Spiritualism craze, but is still alive and kicking today. Despite some very disturbing and hair-raising personal family legends surrounding this mysterious device (no, seriously. Ghosts can be such jerks), I have a small collection of old boards and even once created a spectral supervillain (Doc Phantom) who was basically a ouija board with a head. If, like me, you're interested in both the history of the witchboard as well as the various graphic and creative forms it has taken over the century, you will really dig the Museum of Talking Boards... a one-stop ouijapalooza.
